Who should read this page?

These terms and conditions of service together with any terms and policies referred to in them (Our Terms) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and iGo Driving School (referred to as “us”, “we”, “our” and “iGo” as contextually required).

These terms and conditions cover users of the free iGo Theory app – “Free App Users” – as well as those users who have additionally purchased driving lessons or other services from iGo directly – “Full-Service Users”.

The first section of the terms entitled “Terms For All Users” are applicable to both Free App Users and Full Service Users, while the section entitled “Terms For Full Service Users” includes additional terms relevant to Full Service Users.

Your data and information

Your personal data and information

When you sign-up to and other products you will need provide:

  • Your name
  • A valid email address
  • A mobile number

Should you wish to proceed to purchase with us, you will then be required to provide us with more information:

  • Your address
  • Your availability
  • Valid payment details

If you fail to provide us with a valid form of contact, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our theory test pro platform and services. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login details and any activities that occur on your account.

All of your information is kept secure and we comply with the relevant Data Protection laws applicable to our jurisdiction.

Content you provide

Some of our products allow you to provide content, such as an image for your IGo learner profile or a review (collectively “Contributions”). When providing such content, you acknowledge and agree that all contributions:

  • Are accurate and genuine.
  • Do not contain illegal or inappropriate material, language, content or context.
  • Do not contain any personal or identifiable information.

The really important bit… how we use your data and information.

We will communicate with you via email, we accept no responsibility or liability if you provide an incorrect email address. Unfortunately, you are not able to use IGo without a valid email address.

  • When you sign up to IGo.com or any of our other products, you can opt in to agree to being contacted for marketing purposes.
  • Should you wish to be removed from receiving any of our marketing material, you can opt out any time within the IGo Learner App >> My account >> Settings – Your data may be used to help improve our products and services.

Data and information provided by us

Our technology allows driving instructors to provide you with feedback and log your progress using the IGo Instructor app.

Lesson data

You also agree that we may collect and use technical information about your mobile device, system and related software, hardware and peripherals, gathered from time to time, to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and improvements.

Lesson reports

You accept that we offer no guarantee to lesson reports being provided, as lesson reports are subject to your instructor using an Instructor app and completing the lesson reports within the app.

Driving lessons

What we offer:

  • A platform for Learners to buy driving lesson packages.
  • To match learners with a Approved Driving Instructor.
  • To facilitate payment between the Learner and Driving Instructors – payments are secure and provided by Stripe/ Cardsave

Making a purchase with iGo Driving School:

  • You will need to provide and submit your personal details as well as valid payment details via our e-commerce web site.
  • You must be the cardholder or have express permission from the cardholder to use their details.
  • You must provide current, complete and accurate information.
  • To secure your booking, you will be required provide your payment card details. The full payment is charged to the card provided once the first lesson is scheduled with your instructor.

Top-up purchase

All top-up purchases are charged at the equivalent rates to initial purchases based on the specific number of hours selected.

You can top-up using igo web site from single to 10 lessons each time.

The top up rates are as follows:

You accept that you are responsible for providing correct and accurate test information to your instructor.

We do not accept any liability for the loss of test fee or cancellation fee.

Driving instructors may increase their test day hire at any time, without prior notice. We do not accept any liability for a change of rate.

For short notice test day requests, we do require more than 5 working days’ notice.

The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency require 3 working days’ notice to cancel or reschedule your test.

We do not accept any liability for the loss of test fee or cancellation fee in relation to any short notice test day requests.

Payments made off the iGo web site

There is no need to pay any money to your driving instructor directly if you have purchased through iGo If you pay your driving instructor directly in cash or via any other method, we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any driving lessons taken after that point. Your agreement with iGo will cease and you will need to liaise directly with your driving instructor should any issue arise.

Driving Lesson vouchers

All of the lesson you purchase with iGo are valid for a period of 3 months from the date of purchase. Once credits become invalid, they and cannot be used to redeem for lessons or to be refunded.

It is your responsibility to review your account and ensure your lessons are correct (date and length of time). Any disputes regarding a lesson must be shared with us in writing no later than 1 month from the date the lesson occurred..

Cancellations and refunds

Driving Lessons

All learners accept that they are responsible for ensuring the following:

  • They have a valid UK Provisional Licence.
  • They are able to present their UK Provisional Licence in their first driving lessons and any subsequent lessons, as directed by their instructor.
  • They are of sound mind and ability to take driving lessons and are not:
    • Under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance.
    • Recovering from excessive alcohol consumption.

Should you be deemed unfit for taking a driving lesson due to being under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance or recovering from excessive alcohol consumption, you will be charged for your driving lesson and your instructor reserves the right to withdraw their services for providing driving lessons.

Refunds on unused Lessons

Cancelling lessons

You may cancel or re-arrange a lesson without penalty if you confirm with your instructor 48 hours before your lesson begins. If you cancel or attempt to re-arrange the lesson within 48-hours of your lesson starting, you will be charged in full for the lesson. You must confirm with your iGo instructor that your lesson has been cancelled or re-arranged.

Covid-19

There are exceptions to our standard cancellation policy during the Covid-19 outbreak. You may cancel your lesson with no penalty anytime up to the start of your lesson if you or anyone in your household begins to display symptoms of Covid-19, or if you or anyone in your household has been in close contact with someone showing symptoms. Likewise, your instructor may cancel your lesson anytime up to the start of a lesson if he/she or anyone in their household begins to show symptoms or if he/she or anyone in their household has been in close contact with someone who is showing symptoms.

Proactive refunds

There are some occasions where we are unable to help learners get on the road with a driving instructor. On the rare occasion that this occurs, we reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to proactively refund any unused lessons, within 14 days of your original purchase. We will of course contact you via email to confirm that this is happening. Our normal refund timescales will apply as described below.

Processing a refund

Refunds will be processed within 24 hours of your request. This allows us to conduct an appropriate check with your instructor before the refund is processed. All retail refunds take up to a maximum of ten working days to reflect on your bank statement.

We can and will only refund the amount due to the payment method used to make the original transaction. Please note that if your card has expired, the funds will return to your bank account associated with your original debit or credit card.

Driving Instructors

We do not employ any Driving Instructors and, unless otherwise specified in these terms of use, we are not responsible for (and make no representations, warranties or guarantees as to) the behaviour, acts or omissions of any Driving Instructors you engage through iGo or the quality of the services they provide.

Pricing

Our pricing is controlled by a number of factors, including (not all are listed here): demand, average market pricing, and transmission.

We aim for our pricing to be as fair and as accurate as possible, but it is subject to change at any point and we do not offer any guarantee to hold or honour a quote, unless otherwise stated.

How we get paid

Instructors who belong to iGo pay franchise fee so the school are obliged to send them a minimum number of pupils regardless of whether they are recommended by learners!

Gift cards and vouchers

Our gift cards and vouchers are provided by iGo  only. On purchasing a gift card you agree to accept the terms and conditions outlined on this page in addition to the following:

  1. The value of a gift card/voucher can only be redeemed against the cost of a lesson package  – there is no cash alternative.
  2. Our pricing is subject to change at any point, without prior notice.
  3. The gift card/voucher recipient must hold a valid UK Provisional Licence in order to take driving lessons with iGo.
  4. You may be required to make a top-up payment at the time of redeeming the gift card/voucher. This must be paid at the time of redemption.
  5. Any subsequent top-up payment that is required will need to be purchased in accordance with the prices on iGo, which are subject to change without prior notice.
  6. We accept no liability or responsibility to honour a price previously advertised on iGo or any of our products.
  7. Gift cards/vouchers can only be redeemed by one person and are non-transferable once redeemed.
  8. The value of a gift card/voucher is valid for a 3-months period from the valid date of purchase. After this time, any available credit will become void.
  9. iGo and our agents reserve the right to decline the attempt to redeem a gift card, which we believe to be false, replicated, or being used to deceive or commit fraud.
  10. Should we believe an account to be fraudulent we reserve the right to report the account holder to the relevant legal authority.
  11. We reserve the right to close any account and seek payment from an alternative method if we suspect or are informed of a gift card being redeemed or obtained to commit fraud.

Delivery of digital Gift Voucher codes

Gift Voucher will be delivered to the purchaser of iGo Gift Voucher codes via the email address given when the purchase was made on our iGo web site

iGo  accepts no liability for delivery issues outside of its control in relation to the sending of Gift Voucher  by post or e-mail. It is the Gift Voucher code purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that they have entered a valid and working email address to iGo

If the email containing details of the Gift Voucher is undelivered, iGo will endeavour to contact any Gift Voucher c purchaser through alternative means if those have been provided. However, it may take up to 28 working days.

Gift card refunds:

Our usual refund policy applies to all purchases made with iGo, including gift cards, unless otherwise stated. You agree to these terms when you purchase with us.

Promotions and discount codes

There are occasions that we run and offer promotions, including but not limited to personalised discount codes. All of our promotions and discount codes are subject to our standard Terms and Conditions, in addition to the terms below:

  • All discounts or codes are applicable to first time purchases with iGo only, unless otherwise specifically stated.
  • First time customers are permitted to use only one discount per purchase. Subsequent purchases will not be eligible for any discounts, unless otherwise specifically stated.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw our services if we believe a promotional code has been inappropriately or illegally acquired and/or used.
  • On occasions where multiple accounts are created for the purpose of redeeming and/or using the same promotion for the same customer, we will only honour the discount on the first purchase and on one account. All subsequent purchases and/or accounts will require a top-up purchase. Failing that, our services will be withdrawn, and the balance refunded.
  • Our promotions and discounts run for limited periods of time, specified on the adverts, coupons or leaflets.
  • We do not offer any guarantee or intention to honour any promotional offer or discount after the expiry date.
  • A refund or cancellation where a promotional code has been used will invalidate the use of the code by that customer and/or account and they will not be eligible for any first time customer promotion in the future.
  • We reserve the right, where we believe necessary, to undertake all reasonable action to protect ourselves against fraud and suspicious or invalid redemptions, including but not limited to seeking further verification as to the identity of a customer.

 

Money Back Guarantee

 Refund Procedure & Conditions:

  • Call customer services within 24 hours of your first lesson to explain your concerns over the service or the tuition that you received.
  • This only applies to your very first lesson with iGo, any pre-paid lessons will be refunded at core price for the remaining lessons that havent been taken.
  • Give the name of your driving instructor along with the lesson time and date.
  • Explain the full details as to why you were not satisfied with either the service or the tuition you received.

I will sanction a full refund.

*Refunds do not apply to cancelled lessons or to lessons on test day.

Our entire business is built on reputation and happy customers and your feedback will be used to improve our service and tuition going forward.

This document explains how iGo collects and processes information about you which is personally identifiable (“Your Information”) when you use the IGo app or website (“IGo”), whether you are a driving instructor, learner driver or visitor.

At IGo, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our website visitors, learners and instructors. In particular, we want you to know that IGo is not in the business of renting or trading emails lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. To reassure you further, in this Privacy Policy we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. You have certain rights in relation to your personal data, which we have outlined below.

Your rights in connection with personal information

Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are processing it lawfully.
  • Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
  • Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see above).
  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.
  • Request the transfer of your personal information to another party in a machine-readable, commonly used and structured format.

If you want to exercise any of these rights then please contact us using the details above. The various rights are not absolute and each is subject to certain exceptions or qualifications.

We will respond to your request within one month of receipt of your request. In some cases we may not be able to fulfil your request to exercise the right before this date, and may need to request more time. Where we cannot provide a full response to you for any reason, we will let you know about this in our initial reply to your request.

Your duty to inform us of changes

It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal information changes during your working relationship with us.

Fees

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). In some cases, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive, or if you request multiple copies of the information. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.

What we may need from you

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over other websites. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

  1. Categories of data we collect and how we process.

In addition to using cookies on our website, we may collect and process the following information from you when you fill in a form on our website or have contact with us by letter, email, telephone or other means.

From theory users, we will collect:

  • Basic personal details including your full name and address (and proof of name and address), email address, telephone number and any other contact details you supply; and
  • Records of all communications including recordings of phone calls and electronic communications with our staff.

We may also receive information about you from third parties such as Facebook, Twitter and our insurance partners:

  • Basic personal details including your full name, address, email address, telephone number and other contact details; and
  • Data received from background checks related to the partner driving instructor application process. This may include criminal record checks and credit history or bankruptcy checks as required for regulatory purposes.

Information from your use of our website

We collect information about your use of our website and the devices you use. We collect information on:

  • How often you access our website;
  • The way in which you navigate around it;
  • How long you spend on particular pages;
  • The operating system, hardware, software versions, browser configuration, display size, browser configuration of the devices you use; and
  • Connection information such as IP addresses.

Customer Service

We use your data for the purposes:

  • to enable the provision of the products and services you have requested;
  • to deliver service information about the products and services you have purchased;
  • to contact you for your views on our products and services;

The information which we collect and what we use it for will depend on the nature of our business relationship with you. We use your information:

Applies to all users

  • To improve our products and services.
  • To customise the IGo website and apps according to your interests.
  • To contact you for market research purposes (see below for details)
  • To governmental, regulatory or law enforcement agency requests.
  • For our own internal record keeping.

Additionally, applies to Full Service Users

  • To provide you with services which you have requested and to fulfil our contractual obligations towards you.
  • To provide learner information to instructors to allow them to accept and schedule a lesson with the learner and for ongoing communications purposes.
  • To determine eligibility for pricing offers.

Other purposes which are advised at the point of collection, and in compliance with our Data Controller registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

  1. Information for marketing purposes

We use your information to identify products and special offers that we think may be of interest to you. We will only send you marketing messages where you have consented to such contact, or in the case of products and services, where these are similar to those that we have already provided to you.

You have the right to ask us not to not send you marketing messages by post or e-mail or any combination of these at any time.

You can do this:

  • in case you wish to withdraw from all marketing communications, you can unsubscribe from all marketing by clicking the appropriate link in – any email you receive; or
  • by logging into app/dashboard and changing your preferences; or
  • at any time by contacting us (see above).

If you choose to unsubscribe, we will cease to send you such communications as mentioned above.

  1. Our bases for collecting and using the information

We are entitled to use your personal data in the ways set out in this policy on the following bases:

  • the use of personal data in this way is necessary for the performance of a contract with you for provision of our products and/or services or to take steps at your request prior to entering into such a contract;
  • we have legal obligations that we have to discharge;
  • the use of your personal data is necessary for our legitimate interests in:
    • ensuring the quality of the products and services we provide to you;
    • determining eligibility introductory pricing and other offers;
    • collecting information for marketing purposes; and
    • statistical analysis;
  • you have consented to such use;
  • to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights for the purposes of legal proceedings.

If provision of your personal information is a legal or contractual requirement or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract with us, and you choose not to provide it, we may not be able to perform some of the tasks we need to in order to provide certain products or services to you.

If you do choose to provide your consent you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us (see above).

  1. Third Party Providers

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties except as detailed in this Privacy Policy.

IGo will act as a Joint Controller with our Partner Driving Instructors relating to the exchange of personal learner data in order to carry out our contractual obligations. This information will be transmitted securely via our app.

Where necessary, we may share your personal data with the following third parties:

  • Software providers;
  • Web analytics providers;
  • Cloud computing providers;
  • Payment processing and accounting providers;
  • Email providers;
  • Telephone providers;
  • Marketing providers;
  • Social media providers;
  • Law enforcement agencies and regulators, government departments or competent authorities of the UK or of other countries; and
  • If you have consented to any disclosure to a third party.
  1. Where we store your information

We transfer, use and/or store your personal information inside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and the laws of these destination countries offer the standard of protection for personal information. We may update this list from time to time and any changes will be communicated to you via an update to this Privacy Notice. Transfers to our third party service providers are to enable them to use and store your personal information on our behalf. We will, however, put in place appropriate security procedures in order to protect your personal information. We also ensure that, where your information is transferred to any country outside the EEA this is done using specific legally-approved safeguards. You can request further details and a copy of these by contacting us.

  1. Security

We acknowledge that the information you provide may be confidential and will maintain the confidentiality of and protect your information in accordance with our normal procedures and all applicable laws. We employ appropriate technical and organisational security measures to help protect your personal data against loss and to guard against access by unauthorised persons. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

In addition, those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who process your personal data will only do so on our instructions and they will be subject to a duty of confidentiality.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, for example by encrypting our outgoing email communications, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

  1. Retention of data

We will keep your information only for as long as necessary depending on the purpose for which it was provided. When determining the relevant retention periods, we will take into account factors including:

  • Our contractual and business relationships with you;
    • including the determination of eligibility introductory pricing and other offers;
  • Legal obligations under applicable law to retain data for a certain period of time;
  • Statute of limitations under applicable law(s); and
  • Guidelines issued by relevant supervisory authorities.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow a site to respond to you as an individual. The site can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. You should be aware that this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the IGo website. If you are unsure how to do this, use your favourite search engine to look this up using the term ‘declining cookies’ with your browser name.

IGo uses cookies to store how people got to the site, and to create a unique identifier so we can understand how people use our services.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics uses traffic log cookies to gain information about the use that is made of pages on our website. We use the information from cookies to generate reports on the usage of our website which are used for evaluation and analysis. The purpose is to improve our website by tailoring it to the needs of users. No data specific to any identifiable user is retained.

  1. Changes to our Privacy Notice

We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add to, or remove portions from, our Privacy Policy. We will of course notify you of any changes where we are required to do so.
